Alex has hosted several high profile concerts for the Salvation Army and Age Concern, including the first to be held at The Sage Gateshead.
She has compared the awards ceremony for the Age Takes Centre Stage Festival on North Tyneside for several years, and often gives talks to charities and groups about her work as a journalist and weather presenter.
Alex also recently took to the catwalk in a charity fashion show for Butterwick Hospice on Teesside.
